Thank you

Just a quick thank you to everyone who came to Ignite Bristol #3 last night , especially our great speakers who put themselves up centre stage, and our intrepid Karaoke volunteers who stepped up to speak blind on slides they all thought they would find hard.

Another big shout out must to our amazing hosts, the Tobacco Factory Theatre who give us such a great place to present our talks

Videos and pictures from the evening will be appearing here just as soon as Penny, Hamish and Simon can get round to them, but please be gentle – everyone on the team gives their time for free so we all have to fit our day jobs in too!

Ignite Bristol will be back in early February as part of Global Ignite Week. Hope you’ll join us then.

If you fancy a go at speaking at our next event then start thinking about it now and we’ll be giving you a chance to tell us what you are thinking of soon.

If you’ve got a last minute desire to speak at Ignite Bristol #3 on Sunday - don’t despair. You can. With Ignite Karaoke. Where you volunteer to speak, but using 20 slides that you’ve never seen before. At Ignite Bristol #2, Peter Brill and Richard Churchill stepped out of the audience and shared the slides in a wonderful improvised talk.

This time around, the slides have a theme - Haunted and Ghostly Bristol.

So if you’re not spooked by the idea of thinking on your feet, and adapting your story to the images appearing behind you, then volunteer to Faye Dicker on the night and claim your five minutes of FAME!

Only 27 tickets left for Ignite Bristol #3, and they’ll almost certainly be gone tomorrow morning, when the lovely people at ‘That Morning Thing’ on Jack FM give us an almighty on air plug. So get yours or they’ll be gone before you can say Jack Bristol.

[Note, this post was edited on 1 November to show the actual running order from the evening.]

Two pieces of news today. First of all we have had a late submission for a talk which began..
“The 2010 Living Planet Report of the World Wide Fund for Nature has just been published. It tells us that earth’s population as a whole is using 1.5 planets to support our activities and that we in the UK are using non-renewable resources as though we have more than 3 planets…..”
So we thought that we’d better have him on board for Ignite Bristol #3
The second piece of news is that London is coming. Yes, Ignite London is doing a ‘reverse Dick Whittington’ and coming down to Bristol to see how we do things down ‘ere.
So the first thing that we need to show them is a packed house. At the time of writing, 137 out of the 200 tickets have gone. Let’s go for another sellout! Tell everyone you know. Tell everyone you don’t know.
Spooky sell out here we come!

Can you scarify our logo?
As Ignite Bristol #3 is at the Tobacco Factory Theatre on the 31st October - Halloween, the Devil’s Night, Walpurgis Night - we thought it would be a nice idea if we ‘tricked up’ our logo a little with some scary, hobgobliny, wizard and witchcrafty design effects.
Then we thought - why not let anyone have a go. So here’s a link to download the Ignite Bristol psd file. Do whatever you want, as long as it’s Halloween themed,  and e mail your ideas back to us at theteam@ignitebristol.net
We’ll use the best ones on the website, twitter, and facebook pages in the run up to the event, and on the slides on the night. We’ll also tell everyone how wonderful you are.
So download away, and have fun.
